Classical, Christian Education at St. Basil
St. Basil Academy provides a Christ-centered Classical education for K-12 students with a low student-to-teacher ratio. We aim to model educational experiences in one-room-schoolhouse models and age/ability groupings.
In doing so, students learn together, gain shared educational experiences and texts, build off of one another, and help each other while still receiving individual help at their own academic level. St. Basil Academy functions in a “cottage school” setting where students gather for learning, worship, and shared experiences two times a week on Wednesdays and Fridays.
While St. Basil Academy welcomes students from other other Orthodox jurisdictions, all educational and liturgical experiences reflect the tradition of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church of North America.

Reconnecting with God's Creation
St. Basil Academy's agricultural program is founded on the Orthodox understanding that humans are called to be stewards of creation. Our students develop a living relationship with the natural world through regular care of animals and gardens on our 5-acre property.
This hands-on approach to education helps students:
Experience the rhythms of God's creation firsthand
Develop virtues such as patience, responsibility, and gentleness
Connect academic concepts to tangible realities
Build confidence through meaningful work and service
Gain practical skills that have sustained Orthodox communities for generations
As Psalm 24:1 says, "The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof." Our farm program helps students understand this truth through direct experience, fostering wonder and gratitude for God's providence.
